Berceau transversal (transverse barrel vault)

A barrel vault covering e.g. the nef (nave) of a church in such a way that the axis of that vault is perpendicular to the axis of the nave.
This can clearly be seen in the picture; all vaults covering the nave in the Saint-Philibert in Tournus are transverse barrel vaults, one in each travée (bay).
See also voûte en berceau transversal (synonym).
