Massif barlong (rectangular tower ©)

The translation in the title is followed by this sign ©; this means that it has been "invented" by me.

A rectangular tower, built above the croisée (crossing) in such a way that the longest side is perpendicular to the axes of the nef (nave).
The picture shows the massif barlong of the Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte in Bissy-la-Mâconnaise.
