Clocher (bell tower)

Church tower in which the bells are hung, often square, sometimes octagonal.
This is the clocher called "de l'Eau bénite" (holy water) on the southern greater transept of the abbatiale (abbey church) in Cluny.

Clocher à peigne (bell-gable)

A simple wall with one or more cut-aways for the bells.
This bell-gable belongs to the Saint-Martin in Saint-Martin-de-Lixy.
