Triforium, faux (false or blind triforium)

A faux triforium is a row of arcatures aveugles (blind arcatures) between the arcades separating the nef (nave) from the bas-côté (aisle), and the fenêtres hautes (clerestory).
The higher windows form the clerestory, the arcades underneath it the faux triforium.
The photo was taken in the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Gourdon.
